  1. I received a Cateye HL-EL500 yesterday. Went for a ride down a dark
street nearby. Usually the cars use their high beam there and dazzle me.
I had the light pointing towards the ground about 7m in front of me. A
car came around a bend, immediately switches to low beam, then a few
seconds later flashes his high beam as if he's telling me that I have
    high beam on.

And I was worried that drivers might not be able to see a single LED
    light. Not bad.

It is like all LEDs though, not the full spectrum of light so sometimes
    hard to recognise objects.

I had a guy, in a 4WD, coming down a hill towards me, change to high
beams once. Wish I had Lotte with me.

Don't be daft, you're expected to throw yourself under his front wheels in
thanks for his lighting the way for you.

A friend of mine was waiting at an T junction one night for a "very slow
motorbike" to pass by. The "slow motorbike" was me with my twin 5 watt
    luxeons. 🙂

  5. The thing I like about it (apart from the brightness) is that the
batteries last for a long time. ie. with my halogens, I was
recharging every other day. I'm doing this like once
    every few weeks.

    What I dont like?
Like u said, not the full spectrum, and the lack of a focussed beam,
    like all LEDs.
