    My road bike has a cassette with 12-25t. Time to replace as it is worn. Having difficulty finding another cassette with the same number of teeth. I can find, for example, 11-25t, 12-26t or 11-26t. Does the number of teeth have to exactly match the cassette being replaced?

    Will the cassettes with the different teeth count work on my road bike?

    You can use an 11-25, 12-26 or the 11-26. Your choice.

    You'll be replacing the chain also, so add or subtract a link or two as required.

    Shimano makes 12-25 10 speed cassettes in every product grade from Tiagra to Dura Ace. You shouldn't have any problems finding one. If your bike has an 8 or 9 cog cassette, then YMMV, but 12-25 used to be the standard 8 speed 2300 cassette from Shimano.

    I know that Performance still has quite a few 10 speed Ultegra cassettes on hand. I just ordered one. 😉
