hi there i am thinking of buying a carrera gryphon as the price is ok i am not serious road rider yet and this would be my first road bike at 275 quid is there any other options thanks chris

Maybe this is a bit late for you since you put your question back in Feb, but if you are still thinking about it, go for the 06 Gryphon, if there are still any around. I got one last week and it really does go, just right for fitness and fast commuting and a weekend spin. Very reasonable price too, maybe discounted as it's last year's model. The 07 has disc brakes, but otherwise it's a down-spec, and £130 more expensive.
