I'm 14. I have always biked.. Biking for me is like a mile or three a day. I bike to friends house instead of asking my mom to drive me.. So now I want to get into training myself harder; lose some weight; and start training for competitions.
I would like to do road . I do a lot of mountain biking as of now.. So the thing is. I have always been excited about watching the olympics. For me i've been biking since i can remember.. Now I want to be able to train. I want in about 3-6 years try for the olympics. I have awesome determination.
So can anyone give me advice on training? Should I get myself a road bike? I have a mountain bike currently i do use a lot on the road but would like to get a somewhat decent road bike.
Yes, in my opinion you would benefit from riding a road bike.
Regarding training, get a copy of "The Cyclist's Training Bible" by Joe Friel. You can find it at Amazon or in most book stores. It explains just about everything you need to know about training and nutrition. Read it, study it, use it.
