  1. I am riding a 2009 Defy Advanced 2. I was recently given a very expensive carbon saddle as a birthday present. My problem is that the clamp on the Giant vector composite seat post has 2 small points of contact, and I was told by two shops that this is a dangerous way to connect the carbon rails and may lead to a break in the rail. The shop where I purchased the bike told me to exchange the saddle for one with a titanium rail.

There must be a better clamping system available from Giant that spreads the clamping load throughout a carbon fiber rail. You can't tell me that no one who rides a Giant uses a carbon saddle.

I'm kind of [censored] that my shop didn't try contacting Giant to investigate a work around. This was a gift and it's a very nice saddle. I'd prefer not asking someone to send back a very thoughtful gift and what looks to be an excellent saddle.
