I have a Specialized full carbon, that my insurers insist should have a data security chip glued into, to track if it is stolen, or ID it as mine.
However, they recommend glueing the chip to the seat tube with Araldite glue.
Will this weaken or otherwise harm the carbon weave?
Does anyone have a better suggestion as to how to fix the chip?

Could you just remove the seat Pin and drop it down the tube? will it fit?

araldite epoxy will not harm the carbon fiber. in fact, it is the epoxy used to glue carbon parts to metal fittings on bikes.

Hi Jag.
The old datatag system used a chip in a plasticstar washer that 'stuck' in the tube, the new one is a tiny chip on its own with tubes of araldite, so yes it fits, but I wanted to ensure the araldite would not weaken the fibre weave.
