  1. I have a pot of caraway soup simmering on the stove, ready to have
the batter dropped into it. Are there any "add-ins" that I should
consider. The soup tastes a little bland and cries out for
    something... Thanks...Sharon

Marjoram goes well with caraway, perhaps some shredded carrots,
leberknodel if you wanted to go to the trouble of making liver
dumplings. Parsnips, a little bit of papprika, perhaps even a bit of
lemon zest. A good bit of freshly ground black pepper?

Nothing but salt and pepper if you're using my recipe. It's a very
    simple soup.

I guess our taste buds are different. Neither my dh or myself would
try it again. My batter drops were "Tough". It may be that it's just
not my thing.... The broth was tasty, but not something I'm wild
about. I'll try some other soups since the weather is going to cool
    down again this coming weekend.
