  1. Hi all, A while ago I bought a bike rack from Halfords,
which is ok unless you want to adjust or pack it in the
boot. The ratchet design, if it doesn't eat your fingers, is
hopelessly ponderous to operate. Has anyone come across any
other bike carriers (prefer not the roof variety) that after
use could fold neatly into my little hatchback's boot? Many
    thanks Sam

    I've got the same design.

I never adjust it so it lives in the shed until I need to
use it and then it's attached to the car for the duration.
Trying to adjust it to a flat shape isn't worth the hassle.

  3. Yep but I need the shed space and its a pain to carry
    through the house.

Try the avenir 3 bike montana. These adjust easily without
tools, have 6 securing straps and are light enough to
    carry about.
