  1. I've been thinking I'd like to buy some covered
serving dishes. The canonical style would be
like what you might see food being served to
rich people in old Donald Duck comics.

My interest would be having the tools needed
    for a truly over-the-top presentation.
I'm thinking I'd like a few sizes (preferably
matching), including a very large size.

There's lots of different styles available on eBay.
The style I'm interested in would have an actual
dome, as opposed to a rectangular shape. I
    definitely want a dome style, a hemi-ellipsoid.
Definitely a metal dome, not glass.

I basically know nothing about these collectibles.
Most of the good ones are in silver, and I'm
also rather ignorant of silver collecting.
I don't require genuine antiques, though that
    would be prefered.

Is there anyone knowledgable who could suggest
a good manufacturer for such things? Any hints
about what distinguishes more desirable examples?
    Common defects to avoid?

I'm not in a hurry, so I can take my time
    accumulating examples.
