At my LBS they have a nice cannondale team replica zip up wind breaker (cotton or nylon, cant remember). I am looking for a jacket for 80% dry weather and the rest mostly ight drizzle / some rain. The only other jackets they have there are seamless waterproof jackets that are nice, but i figure i will swet my balls off in the weather here if i use it day to day for my light training rides (its usually about 14 - 19 degrees.) do you guys think i would be better off buying the cannondale jacket, and also a plastic shell to go over it in the heavy rain, or buy a waterproof jacket that will be much hotter?

I would go for the wind breaker. I own a Kelty water proof jacket that I thought I would use for running in the rain. I used it one time in a good solid rain, by the time I ran 1 mile or so my upper body was so soaking wet with sweat I took the jacket off and ran in the rain. There is just no ventilation in most water proofs. I found a Nike w/p that had huge vent flaps in the front and the back that probably would have worked well but the 6 or so jackets they had looked like they would have fit Shaquille O'Neal.
