I bought this as a used bike this year. It's an 8-speed model, apparently made only in 1999. I am unable to find a source for sufficient specs to purchase the parts to change my crankset and bottom bracket.
I want to equip this bike with compact touring chainrings, something like 46-36-26, changing from my 52-42-30 setup.
I am also going to purchase the 13-34 cassette from Harris Cyclery to replace my 11-30.
Does anyone out there know what the specs are on my botom bracket? The stock model is a Shimano LP-27 but this one comes in about 3 sizes.
Did you solve your problem? What BB did you end up usining? I'm rebuilding my bike also but going to a 9 speed. The BB I took out was a BB UN53 68 BC 1.37 X 24. Of course this is not stock and I think it was part of my shifting problem. I found a new BB UN54 BC 1.37 X 24 but not sure if it will work. I find my frount delrailer hits the fram on the low gear not allowing it to shift down fare enough. Do you have this problems?
