    I have a 1997 Cannondale CAAD3. I've looked at the original catalogs and I cant seem to find my exact model. There isn't any decals indicating it on my bike. I REALLY love this bike so I'm just being a guy and want to know everything about it. I also know the groupset isn't OG. It came with Brake/Shifter STI shifters. Mine has downtube levers. I want to make it original.

    If it is a 1997 model, then it has to be an R500. This is the only Cannondale Road Bike that was available in dark blue. The specifications from Bikepedia are in the attachments. bikepedia.comBikeSpecs.aspx

    if they work properly then I would keep the downtube shifters as they are, upgrade maybe the bottom bracket + crankset into the new standard (Ultegra or 105 (Shimano) for example) save money and buy later on a modern bike with STI included,

    You might want to check the serial number to be sure it's a 1997 model.

    Here's a link that shows the Cannondale serial number for the different years and models, and how to decode them.

    Edited to add: I can't quite read the serial number in your pic, or I'd check myself...
