  1. A Canadian source which which supports the other evidence that I have quoted
that the overall cure rate for cancer is about fifty per cent. The overall
five year survival rates for about 23 of the most common cancers was 59%.
The true cure rate will be a little lower, as certain cancers, such as
breast, melanoma and prostate can still result in death after five years.

Thyroid cancer has a rather high survival rate except for anaplastic
thyroid cancer. That type has about the same survival rate as pancreatic
cancer. Thankfulyl it is about 1% of all cases.

  3. How do we know if this includes the cancers from ethic minorities and
    blacks?

Why wouldn't they? They even include patients whose cancers are only
diagnosed at autopsy. There is a detailed account of the sourcing of the
    figures on their site.
