Campy shifters, Shimano hub (again)

To get the best shifting without buying a modified cassette (or other
options), you should adjust the rear der to work best on the 5th or 6th
cog. This works best the other way around (Shimano wheels, Campy
drivetrain) according to other posters here. Something about the Campy
shifter/der combo being more "tolerant".

What will work the best is to use a shimano 9s cogset and chain with
Campag 10s ERGo and RD...if ya gotta have 10s...we have successfully
used a shimano 10s cogset and chain with 10s ERGO...but the better
setup is 9s or get a wheels manufacturing 10s cogset spaced to Campag
10s spacing.

I assume you can use a 10 speed chain on the Shimano 9sp cassette as
well? In other words, you're just recommending 9sp chain with 9sp cass
simply because 9s chain is cheaper, not because 10 will not work,
right? That way I can switch wheels without changing the chain.

Match the chain to the cogset-9s->9s, not a 10s chain. 10s ERGO spacing
differences are closer to shimano 9s than shimano 10s..both work but 9s
shimano is smoother, quieter. Cost not considered. Wheels manufacturing
makes a modified cogset spaced to Campag 10s, that fits onto a shimano
freehub but VERY expensive. Miche also makes a shimano compatible but
Campag spaced 10s cogset but the first one we tried was gooned
up...spaced wrong.
