I am going to replace my Shimano RD w/Jtek adapter for a Campagnolo Centaur rear derailleur. However, my Campy rear cable housing was cut down for use with the Jtek adapter and will be too short for the new shifter. I am having a devil of a time finding a replacement. Every place I check just wants to sell me the entire Campagnolo cable set. Anyone have a spare they want to throw my way or know where I can get one? Thanks.

Tim:
Any standard cable housing will do just fine. Generic from the lbs purchased by the foot.

Amazing indeed. I did find I had some black compressionless housing I can cut down. I tried several bike shops looking for Campagnolo rear derailleur cable and every shop offers only Shimano. I have some spare Shimano cables so perhaps they can fit but I thought the "buttons" were different shapes between the brands. One fairly large shop told me I had to buy the entire Campy replacement cable kit to get a rear inner cable! Baltimore seems to be a Shimano kind of town I guess.

There's nothing unique about Campy housing or shifter cables. Campy brake cables have smaller heads than Shimano, but that can be addressed with 10 seconds on a bench grinder, or 2 minutes with some sandpaper. Otherwise, any compatibility issues are imaginary.
