  1. Do the newer style hubs require their own special lockring?
Or can I use the older style lockring on the newer hubs?

I tried to fit a 9 speed cassette on some new Chorus wheels.
The cassette fit, but the lockring did not seat enough to
thread in. Is there a newer version that is taller?

    TIA

    Dave

  2. depending on the year of your wheelset, you may need a bigger lockring. try

Yes for number one and no for number two.. new hubs come
with their own lockring..starting in 1998 with the oversized
aluminum axle hub found on Record and Chorus.
