I have a pile of 8spd Campy hubs. Anyway to make them 10spd
compatable?
Also have a CC8 Mavic hub. Anyway to make it 10spd
compatable?
TIA

I beleive the Campy hubs can be converted to 9/10 speed by
changing the freehub body to the later '98 freehub . You may
also need to change the axle. Perhaps one of the Campy
experts like Peter will chime in here.

The Campagnolo one can be converted using a 1997/8
Campagnolo 9s freehub body, but those are really scarce.
The Mavic can be converted to shimano 9s, where you can use
a shimano 10s or American Classic 10s cogset.

You can use the freehubs that are on todays
Veloce/Mirage hubs.
If you have Record/Chourus you must attach a (i think 11mm)
ring so that the 9/10 freehub stay in place.
Myself I have converted some Record/Chourus/Athena 8spd
to 10 speed.
If you wan't the exact dimensions of the ring, I'll take of
the freehub and measure.

As of last year Branford Bike sold Campagnolo 9 speed
freehubs which would fit 8-speed hubs. Price was $80 for
Record Titanium or Chorus.
I also needed a second flat washer FH-RE017 (8-speed hubs
had one, 9-speed hubs had two) for a campy 9 speed chain on
the small cog to clear my drop out.
10-speed shares the same spline pattern.
