  1. I have a bike with Campagnolo 8-speed components and the rear derailleur
needs replacing. I also have a spare Centaur 2002 9-speed derailleur,
part number on the box is RD02-CE309. Before I go to the bother of
installing the derailleur and finding that it doesn't work, can anyone
tell me if this derailleur will work ok across the 8-speed cluster with
the 8-speed Ergo levers or not?

    TIA

Put it on and ride away.

How do you know that the rear derailleur needs replacing?

I say-It will work great. We use modern rear ders as replacement rear ders on
any Campagnolo system, regardless of whether it's 8/9 or 10s...That rear der
will work great w/o any modification, just put it on.
