Hey all.. I just bought my first miniDV camera and couldnt' help but notice that the first still pictures I transfered from it to my computer all have a white dot in the exact same spot.
When recording, it shows up on the screen as well, but is not a bad pixel on the screen because during the menus the pixel works perfectly fine. Also, the same weird spot shows up in the viewfinder in the same spot as well.
I haven't been able to test the playback of the video if the spot is there, because I don't have a miniDV tape yet.
The camera isn't even a day old, I'm sure I'd be able to return it. I just don't want to get in a fight with them (bestbuy.ca), with them thinking it's a dead pixel on the monitor itself and not covered under warranty.
Sorry about that.. wrong newsgroup.. rec.video.production is right under this one in my list 🙂
