Camcorder with bad "pixel" on CCD?

  1. Hey all.. I just bought my first miniDV camera and couldnt' help but notice
    that the first still pictures I transfered from it to my computer all have a
    white dot in the exact same spot.

    When recording, it shows up on the screen as well, but is not a bad pixel on
    the screen because during the menus the pixel works perfectly fine. Also,
    the same weird spot shows up in the viewfinder in the same spot as well.

    I haven't been able to test the playback of the video if the spot is there,
    because I don't have a miniDV tape yet.

    The camera isn't even a day old, I'm sure I'd be able to return it. I just
    don't want to get in a fight with them (bestbuy.ca), with them thinking it's
    a dead pixel on the monitor itself and not covered under warranty.
