Hi all, first post here and looking for some feedback.
Last summer I started gaining a few pounds - not much but my
clothes were a little snugger. So I started making some
changes to my diet. I cut out soda, quit beer, went fat-free
where I could, eliminated fried foods and sweets, etc.
Now I have gotten so big that I'm up 2 sizes. And I'm not
just big, I'm puffy, bloated big. I don't know how much
weight I've gained because I have not stepped on a scale
since 1994, but clothes I bought last Spring that looked
good cannot even be buttoned, if I can manage to even get
them up to the point where you would button them.
A friend indicated that I may not be getting enough calories
and nutrition and my body is hanging on to everything to
sustain itself.
So I started keeping a log of what I'm eating and what I'm
consuming calorie wise, and I'm averaging about 800 calories
a day. I'm not starving myself or anything, but I'm eating
things with no / low calories. This doesn't seem like very
much to me. And in theory, it makes sense that I need to be
eating more
Does anyone know what the recommended calorie intake is for
a 36 year old woman? Could there be other reasons for
weight gain, since I'm certainly not eating enough to gain
from food? Or is this just another way of being told I'm
getting older?
Any thoughts / feedback appreciated.
Thanks, Harley Davidson
