A bench has been placed at the fountain at Rivermead, regular start point for Reading CTC runs, in memory of long-time member Alan Furley. Tomorrow's rides will start form there after a brief dedication, accompanied in true CTC style by coffee and cake from Alan's widow Ros.
I have other commitments - I would have been there if I could.

It's a very nice bench, made of recycled car tyres (most appropriate) and wide enough to support yer thighs so it's comfy to sit on. It'll be a welcome resting place for people riding along the river, as well as for early arrivals on Sunday mornings.
