OK, time to spout some local pride. I'm being hunted by a
large company out of Quebec, who happens to have an
office in Southwest Florida, in the Ft. Meyers, Bonita,
Naples areas.
I'm looking for some local dirt on the area, neighborhoods,
climate, age demographics, etc., etc. I'll probably be asked
to relocate, so I need some intel to get my wife on board.
It'll be a tough sell since she grew up in New England, her
parents grew up here, and her grandparents grew up here. I
also need to convince myself, since my only perception of
Fla is old people and Orlando.
Also, what are the activities one can participate in? In New
England I'm within a short jaunt to world class mountain
biking (see, I'm on topic...), great road riding, great
white water paddling, and some excellent bouldering and rock
climbing areas. I'm also a surfer in the summer months, but
the board has collected some dust the past couple seasons.
Basically, They're flying me down in a couple of weeks, so I
need to be armed with some info to accept or decline an
offer, or negotiate a better one!
