  1. Success! My videos are now included within the album. There are 22
videos and over 300 photos, all un-photoshopped. Normally I clean them
up and cull out quite a few before you get to see them, but that takes
too long. Hope you like it this way!

Read on for the video solution if you're interested:

Due to ongoing problems we couldn't figure out with the initially
recommended product, FFmpegX, Ben at Smugmug suggested I give the free
demo of iVCD a try. The free version puts a big ugly watermark on your
converted video, but it worked! I purchased it ($29.99) and
successfully converted all my MUni Weekend clips.

Now I will be gradually adding old video clips to my older albums. I'll
probably also create one where the best ones are all in one place, such
as my favorite; Jess Riegel mapping his body with the day's injuries!

  2. Thanks for the photos, John. I am glad to see you didn't break with
tradition and take a picture of me actually riding. Thanks for taking
the ones of me climbing back up to the trail after my headfirst slide,
on my back, through the brush, stopping when I finally hooked my foot
on a tree branch as it passed over. And thanks for offering me a hand
climbing out, AFTER you took the photos of course.

I just ordered a bunch of prints. Congrats on the contest win. That is
    an awesome photo.

Why can't I find the videos?

Hey, Connie, I guess I did miss a line... I knew I didn't do the log gap
line. By the time I got to it there were only a few minutes left to the
comp and there were some other lines I felt like doing more... As for
#15, I don't know what that one was, but whatever. It was still a fun
    course.

    Here's 14 & 15 in John Foss's gallery - I just don't remember which was
    which:

    http://unicycling.smugmug.com/gallery/894030/11/40547031 (14, I think)

I'm putting far more energy into this than it's worth, but why not,
it's keeping me away from my hw longer...

I remember doing two lines on that: One being jump up the pallete onto
the deck then ride the wde, lower skinny and jump off. That was one of
the first lines I did. The second one was jump onto the small black
box, ride the wide skinny to the desk, turn, ride the taller, thinner
skinny to the next desk, then dismount. Maybe I just didn't give the
judge my card for one, being as I did them seperately. The were both
    really fun lines to try.

I couldn't reach you from the safety of the trail until you got a lot
closer! Somebody had to preserve that cool hole you drilled into the
    bruch at that point...

Thanks for ordering some prints and setting a good example for others!

If you can't see the videos now, it may have something to do with your
software and/or browser. Now they are incorporated into the album, i.e.
they are mixed in. Look at the swimming hole section. I believe you
have to actually click on one of the videos to see it; otherwise they
    look like regular thumbnails.

Okay, you're right, although I could be walking for all you can tell in
the picture. If it was from Friday, that would have been a safe
    assumption.

No, thank you. I could carry my crappy camera all weekend and take a
bunch of poorly composed photos, or not worry about it and buy your
professional ones. Not sure why it took me so long to figure that out.
And when I take them, there is even slightly less of a chance of having
    one with me riding.

I found them now. The thumbnails are just slightly smaller on the
videos. Seems like there should be some way to mark them.

Not knowing what a Galles is, I thought this was another case of
mistaken identity. Then after thinking hard about anything that had
repeatedly fallen off of me, I realized you probably meant my glasses.
I had my sunglasses hanging in the neck of my jersey after going
through the shady creek area, and during the hopping and climbing out
of there I dropped them at least 3 times, dammit.

Eric, thanks for the pictures. Glad to see you got several of the
    obligatory Eric-self-portraits.

  13. Well, I promised I'd deliver. Here is a fantastic set of professional
muni weekend photos by Santa Barbaran, Nathan Welton. His talent is
impressive, and I'm amazed by how many riders he managed to capture -
thus ending the Scott Wallis curse. If you like what you see, you can
thank Nathan by purchasing copies from his website. Go to:
    www.nathanweltonphoto.com
First click, "events," then click "muni."
I'm still expecting amazing photos from the Brooks Inst photographers-
    thanks for your patience.

Wow, those are excellent shots. And what a great viewer that lets you
blast through them with the arrow keys.

And finally a photographer with a fast enough shutter and reflexes to
    catch me riding.

  17. Sweet, those were great pics. I liked how he had a burst shutter, so you
could see entire falls played out. He really caught a lot of great
angles, which is amazing considering the speed that we went down that
trail along with the few places he had to shoot from.

Is there a link to the other photographers who made the video that was
    shown at the dinner?
