I was looking at some photos of the ONCE Giant TT bikes and noticed the rear derailleur cable was
routed through the top tube and down the seat stay to the derailleur (instead of the typical
downtube then chain stay routing).
This looks like it would be cleaner aerodynamically and also less likely to get dirty. Can anyone
think of a reason not to do this?

Nope. And almost every mountain bike these days is routed in this manner. Although the cited reason
for MTB's is less crude in the cables from spray-up. I'm not sure about the aero benefit. You could
route through the down tube just as easily and achieve the same thing? Not sure there.
