Hi all, im a bit of a novice to road cycling, but im hooked, i now have a problem, i got a pair of MB shoes about 17years ago, thats right, 17 yrs, i have looked after them, but my arches have now dropped and they are too small now, bit tight around the toes too, so for the past year i have been looking for a nice new pair of road shoes to go with my nice bike.
The problem is that i can't seem to find any decent shoe stockists, they only seem to have a 2 or 3 models, i cant use Shimano as they are too narrow, im now on my 3rd pair from WIGGLE !!, bont have a very high arch (painful), specialised are too narrow
DHB (wiggle) are ok but loads of heel slip, too much to live with.
North Wave have a good heel, but shape is wrong on outer edge near little toes causing too much pressure in that area
im looking at SIDI mega now, but price is high on these,
my feet are so non standard i would like to just go into a shop and try loads on, i would even pay a bit more for this,
what i cant understand is that people pay so much for their bikes and shoes i think is as important, so why is buying shoes so difficult ? i know all shoes are different and its just a matter of finding the right make.
is there a big where house somewhere?? (DERBYSHIRE) how do you find yours?? any ideas would be great.
