  1. I am looking at buying a used trek 5200, what should i look for besides the status of the paint in order to make sure the frame is ok?

You should check out the stiffness of frame. If the frame is too used, then it might be soft and you lose some of the power while pedalling.
One of the easiest way to find out if the frame is soft or not push on the pedal and watch if bottom bracket is moving. If its stiff then it wont move much.

  3. I personally would suggest never buying a used carbon frame unless it is from someone you personally know well ........ just my opinion ..........

  4. I would say "Good luck", since the warranty probably is not transferrable........... is the saving really worth it?

    Buy from someone you know!
