  1. Hi,

I have a Dawes Sonoran with butterfy bars. The shock-absobers are
splitting along their length, both on top. bottom, and on the bends.

    1. Is it possible to purchase new shock-absorbers?
    2. Has anyone any experience of stripping the bars down
    and rerplacing the shock-absorbers?

    Thanks and regards, Shane

If you mean the grips, wouldn't it be possibly just to use ordinary bar
    tape?

    ;; lovely alternative to rice.

  3. They can be bought from what used to be the CTC shop and are very easy to
    fit.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Sorry, I didn't have precise information to hand for my first reply but have
now looked it up. The store is now called
Bike Plus and the grips are referred to as "Pro foam grips for trekking
    bars" @ £9.99 plus a hefty £3.50 p&p. (for orders under £50).

They can be found at www.bikeplus.co.uk
