Bubles in one return line and cannot vacuum ppol.

I was unable to find any obvous leaks in the suction side
lines and no obvious los of water level, could it be that
the pump needs to be replaced? It is fairly old.

I am always the most suspicious about the vacuum hose
itself in this situation. Many times, the plastic hose has
a hairline crack in it that only shows up when the hose is
flexed in just the right way. The way to tell if the
problem is in the hose is to flood it thoroughly in the
pool by hand, then start vacuuming. If the vacuum hose
itself starts floating on the surface, then you've
definitely got a break in the vacuum hose because somehow,
air got into the vacuum hose - before the water entered the
return line to the filter.

It is possible that you have a break in the filter return
line someplace, but the vacuum hoses break frequently so I
usually start looking for the problem there.
