  1. I got my Brooks B17 Companion Special not long ago. I did a quicky 5 mile
ride on it to see how it felt -- couldn't get much of a feel for how it
    would be.

So today, I had my first real test. I punched out 57 miles on the Brooks.
I must say that it wasn't totally comfortable and at times it felt like I
was riding on a brick. But the pain I got from it was not the same as that
from my previous saddle. In fact, I don't think I'm going to chaff at all.
After I got off I found the top of the Brooks as been reshaped, as there was
now a ridge down the center with two dimples on either side for my butt
bones. So maybe this thing will indeed become more comfortable as I get in
some more miles. I surely hope so as I have a century (I'll probaby go
    metric) next Saturday.

Now I have to do something about my feet. They were dogging me. I would
have went for 70 miles were it not for the fact that my toes were in such
pain from sliding forward in my shoes. I'm thinking of getting some sandals
    with SPD cleats.
