  1. I posted this in the MTB forum, but figured I'd repost it here to get more eyes on it.

So my wife dumped her bike off the top of the roof rack. (D'oh!) Damaged the shifters, I just ordered repalcements. She also pulled the "guts" out of the her maniou black. My question is, what's going to be the most cost effective route, repair or replacement. First, CAN the fork even be repaired/rebuilt. I know I'm looking at about $400 for a repalcement. I'm kinda clueless about the internal workings of front shock...

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Front shocks are designed to be overhauled and rebuilt, a bike store near you should have a suspension whiz that will be able to put it all back together again, and order whatever spares what are needed for things that may have broken.

  3. Thanks. That's what I was hoping to hear.

I don't know about the dents in the top of my car, but the Yakima rack was toast! (I'll see if I can get a pic of the rail in the A.M.) But hey, I wanted to replace it anyway....

  4. I just had my Manito Black serviced and was pleasentlly surprised came to about 25$us,My bike mech is the area ageant and he was going on how servicable the manito is AND HOW ACCESABLE SPARES ARE .So go and get a quote before replacing.
