  1. NZ Maori 19 Lions 13

The final score rather flatters the Lions who were beaten in all
phases of the game. But for some tenacious defending the Maori would
have won by a much higher margin.

This game should be a wake-up call to the Lions management as this is
the first time the Maori have ever beaten the Lions. The woeful
display was the result of the Lions never being able to secure
possession, and you can't win rugby matches without the ball.

It's time team manager Sir Clive Woodward stopped experimenting with
the team, and turned out the best side available. The Lions were
leaderless and missed desperately the injured Lawrence Dellaglio. It
is also the third game in NZ without the inspired skills of Jonny
Wilkinson, who is always a potential match winner and has yet to put
    in an appearance.

Well done the Maori, a well-deserved and historic victory!!

Have a great weekend folks - mine's taken a bit of a dent, but the sun
is just over the yard-arm and I'll soon get back into the swing of
    things!!

    Cheers!! ;o)
