  1. I am looking for the brightest LED highlight that will flash. The Vega by
Light and Motion has a 4 watt LED and appears to be the brightest I have
seen. While I ride in dark trails on rare occasions, I a mostly riding in
dense urban areas like Chicago and Manhattan.

BTW, I just purchased the PlanetBike Blinky Superflash taillight and it is
intense. Before that, I owned that Cateye Opticube, which was stolen. The
superflash with one main LED and two smaller ones has a strobe effect that
is unmatched. It will leave tracers when after you look at it -- even in
    daylight conditions.

I have had a vega for about a year and can't fault it. I even use it on
trails I know fairly well. Will last a couple of hours on full power and
charges in a couple of hours from fully flat. On flashing mode I think the
    run time is about 24hours!

For anyone in the UK looking for a good value LED front light a buddy of
mine just got one from Halfords for £40. Ideal for dark roads/cycleways.
