  1. I have planned with 5 other friends a charity walk in the highlands of
Scotland in mid May involving 45 miles over 3 days.
In preparation for this I am currently planning a trial run walk with a wild
camp somewhere in the Brecon beacons...hence this post.

I have spent many years walking in the Lake district & know how useful a
local expert can be when planning a walk, as there is so much extra local
knowledge that can't be seen on maps.

Would very grateful if any readers with local knowledge of the area of my
proposed walk could pass judgement on it and offer any tips on good sites
    for a wild camp.

Start at the car park at SO 04228 16691 between Pentwyn reservoir and the
    Neuadd reservoirs.
Follow the path through the forest up to the lower Neuadd reservoir, then
head left up and along the ridge to the summit of Pen y Fan.
Descend along the Cefn cwm Llwch ridge to Plas-y-gaer along to Bailea on the
road then ascend up the Bryn Teg ridge to the summit of Cribyn.
Along the ridge to Fan y Big continuing along to Bwich y Ddwyallt then
following the ridge down towards the waterfalls and car park at
    Blaen-y-glyn.
We will be looking for a suitable point to pitch a wildcamp for the night
    somewhere before this car park.
In the morning we will make the short walk back to the start point and our
    car.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas....

    Andy
