hi:
brand new to biking and forum.
i bought a used bike.
the lever for the rear brake is sluggish to return position.
the actual pads and action seem fine.
is there a fix or do i need to replace something.
thanx for any help

Don't know how old the bike is but the cable routing may either be tight or may need to be replaced if old/grimy inside.

Try doing two things...
Take the cable in question out all the way, clean it if needed, and grease it, then put it back together. If there are more then one housing sections, try greasing the tip of the cable before putting it into each housing.
Also, see if your lever is free. Try taking the pressure off the cable, by un-hooking it either at the brake end, or the lever end. then see if your lever is easy to push back and fourth. If not, try to loosen the screw that is acting as the hinge, if there is one. The v-brake mountain bike levers sometimes do that.
