Brake cables keep falling out

Can you describe the problem in more detail?

Are the return springs on your brakes engaged?

What kind of brakes do you have?

p.s. it's much nicer to read posts if they include all of the question in

Sorry about the posting style I use broadband.
The brake springs are engaged they are low end Shimano brakes.All I
can say is the cables some how get disengaged from the slot in the
lever.I have just shortened the housing,hope it helps.Thanks for
taking the time to reply.

All I can imagine happening at the moment is that when you are releasing
the brake levers, the cable is not being pulled back by the brakes, either
due to insufficient force from the brake springs, or too much friction
somewhere in the cable routing.
