Do you mean the gap in the cable stop, or through the loop on the frame or what?

OK situation is this, have just got new (2nd hand) frame as old one is rather bent. However the hole in the rear cable hanger is smaller than the one on the old frame. In fact it is the diameter of the outer cable I've got ('K-ble' outer) minus the rubber sheath. This means that currently I can't connect up the rear brake, and although I know I don't actually use it that much, I prefer to have it in place. What I need is a ferrule/cable stop that will accept the outercable in one end and fit into the cable hanger (brazed onto the frame) at the other. Unfortulately here at work I only have Halfords for spares, and so thgught I'd ask for what I want and give dimensions, as I don't have the bike with me.

I've had not luck finding anything that will fit, so it looks like I'm goign toi have to bodge something, anyone got any odeas?

The one that springs to mind is get a length of standard size cable outer to replace the oversize
one at the back, or is that too obvious and wouldn't match?

On the bodge front, if you have a 1990-ish Shimano Exage or thereabouts brake lever knocking about
spare, there is a threaded ferrule inside which measures about 7mm internal diameter (from the days
when canti brake cables were a tad thicker).
