  1. The big bike shop recently did an overhaul of the second floor. Now,
instead of being a semi grungy almost office like space with a couple
of chairs and tables and a bunch of pictures on the wall, it's a shiny
bright almost office like space with a couple of chairs and tables, and
a bunch of pictures on the wall.

It's a lounging space. The bike shop owner would prefer that we get
our butts off of the stairs, stop lurking in the mechanics' area, and
not stand around in the middle of the shop getting in the way of
customers who might actually intend to buy something. Not that this
will stop us from sitting on the stairs, watching the mechanics, or
lurking but it provides more lurk space so that we aren't clustering
    around blocking things as much.

Anyways, when they made it all pretty they put up a great big poster
with highlights of every year's Round the Island trip including a
couple of photos and some descriptions and the like. So tonight, I'm
lurking in the mechanic's area watching him put new ball bearings in
the hub of some random guy's bike and I look up at the poster and
realize THEY PUT MY NAME ON IT. 2006 Round the Island is written up as
"Meigui's Holiday - the first time a foreigner rode with us."

    Which is really kinda cool.
