  1. Can anyone suggest a more or less non-lethal bike route in
    Boston that will connect Milk Street, near Congress (rental
    apt. for 10 days) to the work site at the Bayside Expo
    Center (on Mt. Vernon St., more or less near U. Mass, I
    believe). TIA.

    Try posting to the mass bike e-mail list, they're very
    helpful in such things ...

    Someone on that list recently suggested using
    mapsonus.commapsonus.com and setting it to shortest route /
    avoid major highways. That site does seem to have the best
    maps of Boston.
