Hey all. I have just got one of these of Amazon:

It only came with generic instructions but I managed to put it together
apart from the front mudguards. I simply can not work out how to get them
on. In my (poor) defense, this is the first bike I've built.
So from the picture I assume that the guards fix to the bottom of the
handlebar stem, just below the forks, but I can not work it out. So, I have:
the bottom of the handle bar stem that is hollow
the guard bracket with a long gap in the middle
a screw and nut
a weird cylindar of plastic with two detachable pieces with in it
Now, I can get the cylinar in the stem and can just about manage to fit one
of the detachments inside of it, but I can't work out how to get it all to
work!
Can anyone give me some help?
