Hello everyone. I need some help and this was a highly recommended forum!
My dad has been a runner for most of his life, but he recently tore the miniscus in his knee and was forced to stop running for surgery and recovery. A story I'm certain you've heard often, he then became addicted to cycling.
His doctor has given him permission to begin running again, but he wants to keep cycling as a means of cross-training. What I am trying to find is a book about cycling as a supplement to other sports. I have found some excellent books about training in general, but nothing about using cycling as a means of cross-training. Is there such a beast? Or should he use one of the standard training books but with a modified approach?
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated! But I would really like to get him a book if it's available.
Also worth mentioning is that he is 58 years old.
Thank you so much!
Jared
