Bone cancer pain query

You don't say whether you have a cancer diagnosis. Certainly
if you do there is some cause for concern but if not then
best wait for the test results as other diagnoses are more
likely. MIKE

Pain due to "benign" causes tends to be longstanding, fairly
constant, and only gradually gets worse. It usually improves
with rest. Pain due to metastatic disease tends to have a
fairly sudden onset (over a few days or weeks), gets worse
as time goes on, and may improve with rest temporarily, but
the trend is for it to worsen.

In patients who have a history of the common bone-avid
cancers (breast, prostate, thyroid, kidney, bladder, bowel)
any severe bone pain is best considered cancer until proven
otherwise....

Hi all I've recently been diagnosed with a smallish (4-cm)
bone cancer lesion (can't remember type) in my right hip,
which was picked up on bone scan after I had had horrendous
right hip pain for 9 months with few other obvious symptoms
although also suffer from a range of autoimmune conditions.
I've been on OxyContin but thankfully lowish doses (no more
than 40 mg a day) were keeping the pain well under control.
However, for some strange reason my pain has now all but
totally disappeared this past two weeks and I've not needed
to take pain meds at all. I've not yet had treatment as I'm
waiting for another biopsy and things don't move fast here
in the UK sometimes, so it's not down to anything like that.
Just wondered if this is a good sign or can it happen
periodically and mean nothing at all?
