  1. Up at 7.00 to take the dog for a walk before driving to Dorchester (from
Salisbury) to do the Dorset Dirt off-road 50k. Beautiful morning, dew on the
cob-webs, birdsong and deer. Of course the bloody animal took off like a
rocket into the woods and it took me over an hour to get him back. He is now
persona non-grata as I was too late to get to Dorchester for the start so
the time I spent restoring the bike from hack to off-road status; marking
up the route and generally faffing was down the pan. Now I have to upgrade
my old tourer to hack status plus do a few outstanding jobs on it ( anyone
got a spare 34t chainring for a Stronglight 110?). Still I will get to see
the Vuelta mountain time trial as long as Eurosport deign to show it ( it
will just be my luck if motorsport overruns)

Oh well! Rant over - I'll take the dog out over the tracks tomorrow evening
and wear him out and get my off-road ride. Just felt to deflated to go
    today....

    Julia
