I recently came into possession of a trainer for free! My
sister bought it and never used it, heard I needed one and
gave it to me. So I'm pretty sure it never suffered any
abuse worse than going through the mail. On arrival it
checked out just fine with a visual inspection. Anyway,
when I'm riding on it it'll start off quite smooth, but
somewhere along the line it'll develop a vibration. When
that happens the resistance from it goes way up very
suddenly. Bearings are good, and it's not leaking at all.
Also, the flywheel is probably fine because the point it
starts shaking moves around. Sometimes it'll show up when
the trainer is spinning slowly, sometimes it happens when
it's spinning quickly. I can usually make it go away by
varing my cadence a bit, but it tends to come back more
often as the unit heats up. Gets annoying and the neighbors
downstairs complain. Since I got it second-hand is there
any chance that I can get Blacburn to look at it? If not,
has anyone ever cracked one of these open?
