  1. Hello friends,

    My uncle, Lawrence K. Gillis of Fort Edward, N.Y., passed away a year ago after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.

    In honor of his courageous struggle and to help in the continuing fight against the disease, I will be riding my bicycle from Portland, Or. to my home in Brooklyn, NY. starting August 1st.

    I am teaming up with the American Cancer Society to raise money for the cause. Any amount that you donate will help.

    Please visit my blog for exciting updates from the road, including pictures, video and experiences from coast to coast.

    Thank you for all your support,

  2. Funny this should come up;

    an avid supporter of dozens of charity rides, I find myself relatively short on funds this year,
    relegated to sandwiching the local weekly group ride between two solo efforts in order to get in
    a 100 mile tour.

    The U.S. economy being what it is, I'm looking for charities cyclists supported over the years, to
    sponsor a team or all-expenses-paid tour.

    Maybe they can't afford it.

    ;?)

    Yaeh, its surprising what you can see once you get the Google out of your Face book.
