    Hi everyone,

    I'm planning on doing a 360k randonneur and I need some advice on bikes.

    Currently I have a 2009 Scott Scale 30 with marathon tires, but my friend says I need a road bike. I personally would prefer something durable so I'm thinking about getting a Trek DS series bike. Will the Trek be an upgrade on speed or should I stick with my Scott?

    Unless something's changed in the last 30 years, most randonneuring is done on conservative road bikes that are accessorized for long distance riding with some comfort. Here's a link to point you in the right direction: bikequarterly.comBQRandonneurBike.pdf
