  1. Today while waiting for the bus downtown I saw an older oriental fellow riding a nice bike, he was
smiling. I couldn't help but smile back at him.... but the bus behind him - wow, had I not been
waiting for "that" bus it probably would have hit him. The driver of the bus said it was too much
paper work if he hit it, but that if I had jumped in front of the bike and smacked him he would have
got out and helped me beat him up....

Then i get on the bus, mindlessly staring out the window for about 10 blocks and there is a bike
laying on a sidwalk, right there on the cornor - people walking around it, lovely black sleek
looking thing, wheels, handlebars, pedals, all there, seriously tempted to get off the bus and pick
it up. I wonder if it is still there.

    take care Liz

I wonder if it's rider was beaten off of it by a passing angry bus driver.

    cheers, Tom

  3. Obviously, this was another alien abduction. They come down all the time, you know, to pluck people
    right off their bikes.

Ooh, shades of the Marie Celeste.

I guess this calls for clipless pedals. Better yet, those cleats, clips & 2-straps track setups. At
least folks would get to take their bikes with them. Or escape abductions by not being able to fit
through the space ships' hatches. I hope the aliens don't just drop 'em like hot potatoes.

I just had a passing, irrational thought -- maybe the bike was abandoned on-the-spot by a thief who
noticed another, better, unlocked bike to steal. Naw; I'm embarrassed for even thinking of it.

This reminds me -- it's almost time for me to Google up some more cyclist ghost stories. Hallowe'en
    is sneaking up on us.

    cheers, Tom
