  1. Is there something similar to the Bikeability initiative
    (<http://bikeability.org.uk/>😉 for Wales?

I am a secondary school teacher and I would like to help raise the
profile of cycling at my school, and to get more children on their bikes
especially for the journey to school.

Is there not a national body like Cycling England or Cycling Scotland
for Wales? Try writing to your Welsh assembly member, or try googling
with a literal translation into Welsh of 'getting about on a wheeled
contraption propelled with feet on pedals'

I wrote a 'what is Scotland doing like Bikeability?' letter to my MSP
(well, not mine because she is useless but the one next door who I met
a wee while ago and is much higher profile) and she promised to bring
to to the relevant Scottish Executive minister and get me a reply.

I do hold out some hope. One of the relevant bots (Tavish Scott IIRC)
was pictured riding an Ordinary at the opening of a new Sustrans route
    recently.

    From Their FAW:

    Q. Is Bikeability available outside England?

The Bikeability award is only available in England at the moment. There are
schemes and instructors who will deliver training to National Standard in
Scotland and Wales. Please see the National Cycle Training Helpline web site
    www.ctc.org.uk/cycletraining, or email/call [email hidden] or 0870
    607 0415 for more information.
