Yea, pretty much like washing the car; I use simple green on the drivetrain, maybe taking a toothbrush to the chain, spending a few minutes scrubbing it & a gentle rinsing. Dry it it the sun and wipe the chain down well, lube the chain so it won't rust up, and after every couple washings I get a drop or 2 of lube on the moving parts - front & rear derailiers. Drylube is great on the cable ends.
