Hey - I'm just starting out as a biker and have almost NO money and know that I shouldn't invest quite yet anyway. What kind of bike (brand, frame size, price, store) should I be looking for? I'm 5'9'' (approx. 175 cm) and looking to do park trailing (mildly rough terrain) and "cruising" (around the campus/city). Keep in mind, though, that these parks (main reason for purchase of bike) are no breezy stretch of road...😉 They can be pretty steep/rough. Any shoppin hints.... please?

Probally look for either a new or second hand mountain bike.
You could either get a half decent second hand bike or a low range new bike. Where abouts are you? -

I'm toward the east coast of the US, specifically the middle tennessee area. Yes, I know Nashville is all city, but just outside of it are some AWESOME parks with really nice trails. Lots of steep hills and sharp turns. But then again, I AM in Nashville and would also be using a bike for close-range commuting (around campus and local areas)
