  1. My SO's taken up jogging and I get to cycle along with her providing
encouragement/security/etc and (the biggest reason) to carry things.

However she's interested in knowing how far she's gone and at what speed..
therefore I am in need of a speedo for the bicycle.

Considering the use, will one of these do the job without failing after two
    days :

    Raleigh Wire Free Computer, £14.99

Any suggestions for something similar from <whisper> Halfords </whisper> ?

I've got a wireless one. It sometimes fails in winter when the batteries get
too cold. Any basic computer is as good as the next one IMO.

Yes, the wireless ones are a bit temperamental. I'd go for a wired one.
Get one that gives you the average speed for the trip and elapsed time.
    Cateye is a good brand.

I know it's a bit up the price scale, but has your SO considered getting
a Garmin ForeRunner or similar? They're very cool...

The 301 is the newest most feature-packed model. The 201 is about half
the price but lacks some of the features.

    Cheers,

    Jon
